SEO reports have become a bit of a joke, really. Agencies show brands cherry picked data that makes them look good, whilst ignoring anything negative that's going on.

It erodes trust and is no good for either party.

So we decided to show our reports with clear, pre-agreed KPIs, using year on year comparisons, to take seasonal changes out of the picture.

As well as easy to understand metrics, our SEO platform gives reports with clearly show keyword rankings and you're able to click into a keyword to see how it's moved in the time we've been working on it.

We also show a breakdown of traffic in terms of sources and the locations the traffic has come from, plotted on an interactive map and bringing revenue data in from GA4.

The final thing we show is the activity on your account for the previous month, including keyword opportunities we've worked on, where they previously ranked and where they now rank. We also show the results of any SEO experiments that have run in that timeframe.

Finding high potential keywords that you're close to ranking for already

A monthly process that we wrote about in our blog is to look for keywords where you're already ranking positions 4-20.

The rationale is simple: if you're already ranking within the first couple of pages of search results, Google likes the page to an extent, so it's just a case of decision making as to whether to improve the page or to create a new page to match the intent more closely.

Most of the time, it's a case of improving the page.

Our tool finds this opportunities automatically and then scores them in terms of the size of opportunity, meaning our team are steered in the direction of keyword opportunities that will drive the biggest impact.

When they complete their work, they can trigger an experiment to track the progress of the page and the keyword is moved into your tracked keywords.

Again, it's about closing the loop of: we said we'd do X, this is the result of that.
